Art Galleries

If you’re looking for Sonoma coast art galleries, you’re in luck! Surrounded by such natural beauty, it’s no surprise that local artists are inspired. In addition to sculpture and art on permanent display at the lodge, here are some galleries that feature artworks from the area.

Spindrift Gallery at Sea Ranch Lodge

In expansive surroundings overlooking and near the Fireside Room, Spindrift Gallery at Sea Ranch Lodge presents rotating exhibits by acclaimed regional artists. Showcased are works in various media – oils, photography, water colors and more. The light-filled gallery space is lined with comfortable chairs that invite repose, relaxation and contemplation of the artwork. The distinctive pieces are available for purchase.

The Spindrift Gallery is also located in Gualala. Since 2003, the gallery has featured some of the finest artwork on California’s North Coast. Its core vision is to present “exceptional art by award-winning artists” through individual and group exhibits.

Studio 391

Studio 391 is an award-winning fine art gallery in Gualala. Owned by Carol Kozal, the gallery specializes in photography, painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass and mixed media by local, regional and nationally established artists.

Alinder Gallery

The Alinder Gallery offers photographs as works of art. Biographers of Ansel Adams, Mary Street Alinder and James Alinder have curated more than 100 exhibitions worldwide, including the 1987 Ansel Adams blockbuster at San Francisco’s de Young Museum and a 2002 Centennial Adams exhibit.

After 26 years and seven store locations in Massachusetts, Lu and Maynard Lyndon closed down the Boston-area Placewares stores and returned to Northern California. In 2005 they opened a store in Gualala, near their Sea Ranch home. Their store and art gallery, Placewares+LyndonDesign, is focused on design and art for the home.
